More than a dozen artists from Sparrow Gallery (Sacramento) will be showcased in a new art exhibit at the California Agriculture Museum. This exquisitely curated exhibit highlighting agricultural landscapes—and cows—will run October 27 through December 13.

 

The exhibit opening reception on Thursday, October 27 from 5:00 to 6:30PM will feature the newly released book From Cows to Concrete: The Rise and Fall of Farming in Los Angeles. During a discussion of the book, authors Rachel Surls and Judith Gerber will take a regional look at how agriculture molded California. After the discussion, the authors will be available to sign books (available for purchase at the event).

 

Enjoy hosted wine and appetizers while you mingle with the artists who created this fascinating exhibit and learn about the surprising agrarian history of California from the women who literally wrote the book.
